Stuart Wakelin PhD

Stuart joins the Alpha-Plus team having received a PhD in Biochemistry from the University of Leicester where he studied the kinetics of the Dictyostelium discoideum myosin-II motor domain using site-directed fluorescent probes. Prior to this, Stuart completed an MSci in Biochemistry and Biological Chemistry at the University of Nottingham, researching the synthesis of a potential anti-cancer agent during his final year honours project.

Stuart joined Alpha-Plus as Editorial Assistant in October 2006. He completed a fast-track development programme to become a Medical Writer by April 2007, and was promoted to Senior Medical Writer in October 2008.

During his time at Alpha-Plus, Stuart has gained experience in neurodegenerative conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease.
